New Beginnings

And last but not least Beamer

I just couldn’t help myself, I mean look at this cutie and the bloodline and that colour!!! Beamer is once again from my good friends Kevin and Leanne at Sunnyhill Alpacas boy do I wish they didn’t live so far away so we could exchange more breedings and drinks lol!!! They have an incredible program and I am lucky to have a small part of it. Back to Beamer he has Conopa (one of my all time favourite bloodlines to play with) on the dams side and his sire is a handsome grey male called Diablo. Bea

Sunnyhill's Aftershocks Sprint

Our final addition to our female foundation herd is Sprint. She is a 2020 Cria born at Sunnyhill Alpacas in Alberta. Her dam is Snowmass Triple StarzXX and has a loaded Snowmass pedigree including Sonwmass Elite Legend and Snowmass Best Man. On her sires side is our very own Averegan's Aftershock. He is an outstanding black male from our very own Xanadu P Resolute and our Cimarron Gold Legend daughter. This combo produced the cutes light fawn femal that is well covered, boxy, great coverage an

Miss Broadway Du DNA

Also added to the foundation herd this winter was Miss Broadway. Her sire is Averegan’s Magnus. Magus is a 2x Supreme champion out of Our Gold Legend daughter Memphis and Xanadu P. Resolute. Magnus was gorgeous, super fine, good density and shine for days. We sold him before we got a chance to use him. I’m thrilled DNA has had some outstanding offspring from him and when the chance came to buy a daughter I couldn’t pass it up.
Broadways dam is a Chananza daughter, so we expect she should j

Arriba Amora

Amora, what can I say, I spotted this adorable face when I was Arriba when she was just a month old. She instantly caught my eye in the group and her fleece was so lovely and shiny. I was still thinking about her the next day and knew I had to negotiate with Lori to have her.
She is one of the first crias from Zotz Chico De Charlevoix and Lori’s gorgeous Cortez daughter Amelia. I have been a fan of Cortez for many years, His crias are all extremely good looking and have the ability to thro

Say Hello to Arriba Winona

As I mentioned in my previous post this past fall we are thrilled to say that our favourite male Averegan’s Argo has been chosen as the newest herdsire at Arriba Linea Alpacas. She has an outstanding grey and black program and he will be a great addition to her lineup. Not to mention he will get a lot more work at Lori’s place. He has spent a couple summers with Lori breeding and according to her, he walks in find the highest spot to stand on just like he owns the place. He is close by for us t

Lady Geiger of Grazing Hills

The second new addition we added to our foundation girls was Lady Geiger. She is a bit older female at 9 years of age she is the daughter of Guin and 1/2 sister to some of our outstanding blacks Argo, Argonaught, and Atticus. We sold Guin in 2019 and with the sale this year of Argo I was looking to ad some of that line back into my herd especially with a daughter as Guin gave me nothing but boys while I owned her. Lady G is out of Accoyos of America Diomedes and the Nautilus line. Lady G is buil

2020 New additions to the herd

2020 was a year of growth and a year of change at Averegan. We saw a market for new farms that were looking for proven genetics and bred girls that’s were easy keepers and good moms. So we were able to help set up these farms with some of our older but favourite girls. This left a substantial gap on our own foundation herd. The next few post are going to showcase the newest additions to our farm.
For those of you in the know we added Xanadu P. Resolute as our main herdsire in 2010. Although

New Year, new goals

As we reflect back on 2020 we can appreciate the highs and the lows of the last year. It’s not to say that there were definitely some challenges, but we learned to be more fluid or roll with the changes.
2020 was a year of change in more ways than 1. We have had to reevaluate our business/breeding plan, to try to remain current.
We have opened an on farm store stocked with all our favourite Alpaca items, and trying to stay true to our goal of using as much of our own fiber to make ou

ALPACA ONTARIO SPRING SHOW 2016

It was an awesome showing this weekend for all! A big thanks to all the volunteers for working hard and other farms for bringing great competition! We brought 20 animals on the trailer to this show with Hubbert Farms, Sunnyhill Alpacas and Alpagas Chelsea. With the lovely judges Arturo Pena and Robin Nasemann, the entire show was a great time with lots of public interest. Here at Averegan we took 3 animals, and started off the showing with Averegan's Magnus, taking a first in the toughest class

PUT A LITTLE RESOLUTE IN YOUR HERD'S NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION

Averegan Alpacas and Hubbert Farms have merged the end of this year and with lots of crias expected, we need to clear some space in the barn! Take advantage of this deal and package animals together from both farms!

Make this year about bettering your herd.

Navan Show 2015

On the sixth and seventh of August we headed up to Navan Ottawa to attend the 11th Navan Fair Alpaca Show. With an astounding 80+ entries in the Composite Halter portion and 70+ in the Fleece Show, we were very happy to participate in such a successful show! The show committee did a fantastic job at check-in, announcing, making sure no one missed their classes, and were open and happy to take all suggestions and concerns. Here at Averegan we'd like to take a second to thank all sponsors, committ

First Cria of 2015

Here she is...first cria of 2015 a lovely white female out of our Shamroc daughter Lola and Arriba Linea's award winning male Aqeeto.
As you can see she is adorable, was a beautiful day and the delivery was textbook, just how we like them. I amazes me every year how nervous I still get when I see that bubble, especially the first few, I guess i have to get my birthing legs every season.
Lola is a great mom, very attentive and the baby is gaining a steady half pound every day.

After Shearing Picture

Shearing is done for another year, I love how clean they all look, and they must feel a ton better now that the warmer weather is coming.
I always laugh at how funny and different the crias look after their first shear, some of them forget how to walk without all that fleece and all of them roll in the first dirt hole they can find.

a few more pics

Pre shearing pictures

Well as we get ready for our first show quickly followed by shearing I knew there wasn't going to much time next week to get pre shearing pictures. Yesterday's weather was gorgeous and sunny, so camera in hand we set out to take some pics before all that gorgeous baby fleece some off.
They just never look the same after that
Enjoy

February Halter Training

Well one sure way to beat the winter blahs is halter training...i laugh because it can be anything but fun. For the most part all the kids eventually learn that the halter means you get to go place and see things, but there is always one or two who will fight the whole process tooth and nail. Those are animals I believe are sent here to teach me patience :)

Merida

Merida is the first cria born to Memphis (our dark Gold Legend daughter) and our main herdsire, Xanadu P. Resolute. She was the first cria born this year and the only one we didn't get to see born. We were at our cottage and missed the birth by about 20 minutes. Memphis has been a great mommy lots of milk very attentive, yet still lets us check her baby and weigh her. Merida is sweet, born with a beautiful head style, she is not as dark as I had hoped but her fleece is very organized, fine

Its's been a while

Well I guess life gets busy, good thing we have cold winter days to be able to sit down and catch up on things...we are still loving the whole alpaca lifestyle, every year we are seeing the fruits of our labours and are improving our animals all the time. It is fun to look back on some of our past animals, you know the ones you thought were fantastic, the ones you were really excited about showing, and seeing those fleeces compared to today, It makes you proud to see the hard work you put in is

Thank you once again.

Picture Time!

It's that time again! Pictures of our 2013 show cria crop! We let the babies out into the big field-we just had 30+ centimetres-and they had a ball! Lots of running and jumping and getting stuck in the snow. We also took some fleece pictures of our crop. We are VERY impressed, not a bad one in the bunch. We are extremely proud of our newest male Xanadu P. Resolute, very happy with our purchase of this male. Very excited to see how our babies stack up at the AO spring show. As always, all our bab

Winter Fun

What a better way to beat the winter blues than to have some fun in the snow. Saturday was a beautiful day so we decided to let our big boys out for a run. They had a ball, they rolled and wrestled, ran and jumped, it was hilarious to watch, even the older very serious boys got into it. We captured a few moments on film, and posted them for you to enjoy. Spring can't come soon enough !!!!

Thank You Datrix Alpacs

We could'nt be more thrilled that two of our Shamroc babies will be going to live with Trixi and David at Datrix Alpacas. Trinity and Summit are two beautiful crias that will be a great addition to your herd. We will miss them lots but know they will have a great home with you.
Thank you and Congratulations!!!!

Thank You Spruce Haven

Big thank you to Tracey from Spruce Haven Alpacas, for the purchase of our first Shamroc cria Lyric.
She is a beautiful girl and was quite difficult to let go, she will give you many many years of incredible offspring. Can't wait to see her 2013 cria with McCoy.

Cria Adventures

These past few weekends some of our crias graduated halter-training school. They have been on a few trips up the barn road and back with no incidents, except for the occasional cat chase. This past weekend though, when my 4 year old nephew was over he found a friend in one of our friendliest cria of the year, Tempest, who he has nickname fluffy. Tempest has been more then willing to be led around by him, eat pellets, and give kisses. Radar had a little bit of hay on his back (he really loves to

More To The Sales List

Looking Through My Fleeces

Today I was sorting through my fleeces to find out weights and lengths on them. Amazingly EH Scout and Tell Catarrah had the longest fleeces of my herd (Excluding Crias). Both will a total of 4 Inches. Scout has a 3rd year fleece and Catarrah a second year fleece. My heaviest fleece (again excluding crias) was Tell Sayonara with 3.2 lbs with a 3rd year fleece. Interesting... Isn't it funny how we can be entertained with fleece for so long?

Pictures!!!

Today I went out and took some great shots of the baby girl. She is crazy and she runs everywhere!!! Names we have are Leilani, Gia, Temptation, Athena, Dixie and Allure. Any suggestions?
We also got some good pics of the boys and the girls. We have posted the pics on their Openherd.
Enjoy! She kinda looks like a Gia or a Leilani.

Finally !!!!

Finally!!! Amber had her baby!!! It came into the world fighting, It even kicked me when I was picking off the membrane. Amber was day 363. SHE (yes its a girl) is light fawn. It is the only Chipper baby this year and had a perfect birth except the sac was quite thick. We weighed her on our new scale and she weighted a hearty 19 pounds. I will post pics when she is all fuzzy tomorrow.

Still Nothing...

Today Amber is at day 359 and she's driving me crazy. She's been staring off like they do when there going to have it and then when she rubs her head she eats some grass again. Also she lays down for a while then gets up and goes to the poop pile and almost immediately drops down again but NOTHING!! I even leave the property for like 20 minutes and come back and nothing. She's driving me CRAZY!! So hopefully today she will have it, I just don't even know anymore. I will keep you posted.
